Hey all, sorry for what might be some rookie questions
I've been trying to use the Pandwarf on a remote I have around the house. I checked it on my Hack Rf One in SDsharp (I'm still working on understanding GNU Radio) and I've pinpointed the signal at a little under 315mhz.
When I set the Spectrum analysis to start to listen on 314mhz I hear nothing. When I attempt to Rx the signal, I have further issues. The 'measure' button is often greyed out so I can't listen for a data rate (I have the basic model and therefore cannot compute). I've tried 3200 and 4911 and both of those returned nothing.
Is my pandwarf working properly? I did attempt a firmware update and got a warning that my Bluetooth update on my phone (an LG G6) was not going to work and that I should use the manual method using nRF connect, this appeared to work fine and my Pandwarf connects just fine though certain FW items read as unknown, is this a cause for concern?)
Any advice on how to move forward with this matter would be appreciated
Did you enable RX amplifiers ? Starting with release 1.4.17, any mismatch in RF amplifiers settings triggers a popup in the app. Also did you use a 315MHz antenna ? Have a look at github.com/ComThings/PandwaRF/wiki/Hardware-Antennas and check if the antenna used is correct.
For the FW update issuen ca you try with another phone ? The manual method can only be used with old FW, so I guess you have downgraded your PandwaRF to v0.10.0 ? Note that latest Nordic Version is 0.10.4.
update: I tried again with my LG G3 (not the G6) and the 300mhz antenna (I had forgotten to use this the first time, oops!) and managed to get the remote to show up in a scan, als measure the data rate and sniff the signal in RX mode. The sniffed hex had a lot of 0's in it so I think my frequency or data rate may need some tweaking, but the device definitely works. I am getting a request to update the FW on the G3, which I've attempted but when I unbond it as prompted and continue it keeps asking me to bond again (which I decline) and it goes right back to inform me that there is a fw update. Unsure of how to progress. I'd like to use my G6, but when I go to the fw info page in app it doesn't let me do anything but check server; the firmware update button is greyed out.
I'm making progress, thanks in no small part to your help!
